The guideline offers recommendations on both a minimum package versus a comprehensive package of activities for supporting children and adolescents living with HIV. It serves as a standard of activities to be put in place when dealing with HIV infected children and adolescents, but set-up should be adapted to the context and the human resources available. The guideline gives an overview of the activities to be put in place, while the annexes provide several practical tools from different MSF HIV projects.
Refer to page 38 - 42 for ART initiation for children and adolescents.
This guideline is designed to provide practical tools and guidance for staff providing patient support, education and counselling to children and adolescents aged between 0-18 years and infected with HIV.
